The Tinker Yard Goes To School

[ An Open-Invitation to Centre Leaders of Childcare Centres and Kindergartens in Singapore ]

Dear Principal,

Literature-Based S.T.E.A.M. Programme (5 & 6 years) | Singapore

The Learning Caravan is pleased to present to you our latest S.T.E.A.M programme - S.T.E.A.M. Tinker Club - specially designed for children aged 5 and 6 years of age.

S.T.E.A.M. Tinker Club could be conducted during your curriculum hours or as an after-school programme.

By integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (S.T.E.A.M.) in a hands-on Literature-based project approach, we provide challenges that promote curiosity, inquiry, creativity, exploration, collaboration and critical thinking.

Another of our aims is to provide a learning environment that acts as the third teacher and activities that promote a growth mindset in the children we work with.

Our S.T.E.A.M. specialists will provide the materials and facilitation at your school premises. These weekly 90 minute sessions will be engaging for the children as they explore, investigate and come up with solutions and inventions.

Each unit will start with a reading of the selected literature and thinking cap questions followed by a series of challenges based on the theme.

Here are some examples of books chosen by our specialists:

Our specialists will document the project development process through written notes, photographs and videos. The children will also participate in journaling the process, offering their perspective of the learning.  Part of our commitment would be to showcase these projects at our yearly public exhibition. This will take place in the last quarter of the year.

We believe that our S.T.E.A.M. Tinker Club will enhance the learning of the children at your school and look forward to bringing this fantastic programme to them.
