Get together as a community to chill, reflect, share, learn and be inspired. These networking nights will be held at our studio at Waterloo Centre. We will begin the evening with some games followed by sharing of ideas on ways to create engaging play spaces. Network with fellow colleagues from other preschools during the break. Refreshments & light snacks would be provided. After the break, we w ill get hands on exploring loose parts and the endless play possibilities loose parts offer. You would have an amazing experience. We had our first Early Childhood Educator Reading Club meet-up on September 24th, 2016. Three early childhood practitioners,  Nor   Haryati   Abdul Kahar , Veena Nathurmal and Alyna Chong were present that day. The session was held at The Tinker Yard | Where Curiosity Reigns. We started our Melbourne study tour today.   A total of 8 educators from Singapore, Malaysia and Australia joined us today. We met at Southern Cross Station at 8.30am and made our way by train & bus to Elonera Preschool.   Gina Courtney, the preschool Director gave us a warm welcome when we arrived at the preschool.  She gave a brief introduction of the history of the preschool and shared about the preschool's philosophy and teaching approach. Elonera Preschool is a community-based preschool managed by a committee of parent volunteers. The preschool believes strongly in the importance of play in the early years. The 4-year-old programme was in session when we were there.  The children were engaged at several learning centres, working independently creating boxes using loose parts, easel painting, block play, light table play and sensory play. We visited an outdoor kindergarten in Norway on 7 June 2016 and were warmly welcomed by the children at the kindergarten.  Upon our arrival at the kindergarten, the study group leader Alyna was greeted by  a couple of children at the school. One of them asked if we were from Singapore. They had been told that a small group of educators was visiting from Singapore. They took Alyna's hands and led her around the school grounds.
